How to Bring Soup To Work With You For Lunch

Paper soup cups

Americans eat over 10 billion bowls of soup every year.

If you’re a big fan of soup, chances are you would love to have a nice big bowl of hot creamy tomato penne or Italian meatball during your workday. Some offices can get very chilly, and a nice hot bowl of soup can really help break up the day. There are so many healthy and low-calories soups that you can enjoy on diets or if you are trying to lose weight. There are also rich and creamy varieties for those looking to indulge.

The only problem is, how do you get it there?

There is no need to have to go out and buy an expensive thermos to have to take soup to work in. Aside from being pricey, they can also be bulky to lug around, and many times they do not keep your soup hot anyways!

If you’re looking for a way to get your delicious soup to work, here are some ideas.

Heat it up and put it in a to-go cup with a lid

When you’re enjoying your lunch break, you might want to go outside and enjoy some fresh air and bring your soup with you. You don’t want to have to lug a dirty bowl back and forth. You want to enjoy your soup and then get to throw it away! For easy transport and clean up, try using small paper cups with lids to store your soup. Simply heat it up in the microwave at work, and put it in a cup with a lid. Not only will it keep it hot, but you can recycle them!

Using a white paper cup

If you just want to pour your soup into a cup and not have to worry about putting a lid on it (maybe you just want to put a spoon in it and bring it back to your desk), a white paper cup can be better than small paper cups with lids. The lid might be a bit more unnecessary if you don’t have to travel far with it and don’t plan on saving any for later.

Use a paper bowl

Are you planning on having a big helping of soup? Small paper cups with lids might not cut it! Using a disposable bowl can be a great way to enjoy your soup in the middle of the workday. Disposable soup bowls can be microwaved and then tossed out at the end of your lunch break. It’s just so much easier than having to wash dishes in the middle of a busy day!

Women are twice as likely to order soup than men, and soup is actually SO popular in America, that in 2016 alone, 32.1% of all deli operations wanted to concentrate on enhancing their soup stations. Are you a soup enthusiast? There’s no reason why you can’t enjoy a hearty bowl of soup at work.
